California Quail (male/female)
One of the all time favorites of collectors is the Beautiful California Quail. It is not an uncommon site here in Oregon to see a pair like this crossing the logging road, or trail with several of their little ones all in a row trailing behind. Usually there will be a parent leading and the other following in case of danger. Their sharp chirps and whistles direct the little ones which obey the warnings immediately.
